Next generation sequencing (NGS) is a cutting-edge sequencing technique that creates a library of DNA/RNA fragments and sequences them in a parallel fashion. It is characterised by high speed, accuracy and high-throughput efficacy, truly revolutionising biomedical research in recent years. The scope of the EU-funded EASI-Genomics project is to bring down the cost of NGS services. For this purpose, the project will offer funding to more than 150 projects to undertake NGS-based experiments. A framework that includes experimental design services, sequencing, and data analysis will help researchers with their projects and provide easy access to high-standard research.
